The 23d All-Russian Scientific and Practical Congress with international participation ‘Emergency Medical Care 2024’ was held in Saint Petersburg.
Dr. Oksana Lisina MD, Assistant Professor of the Department of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Medical Genetics at the Volgograd State Medical University, presented a report ‘Prospects for the use of transcutaneous neurostimulation to relieve primary headaches in the prehospital period’.

The study conducted by the Rostov and Volgograd Medical Universities showed significant efficacy of SCENAR in the pain management of chronic and episodic migraines. According to the data obtained, even one SCENAR treatment procedure is highly efficient: the pain is reduced as a result of a short-time application. This makes us believe that SCENAR therapy will be included into the standard of care in primary headaches treatment.
The report was highly appreciated by the audience, making specific mention of the scope of work done and its importance for the development of modern medicine.
